Who is ClearApp?

ClearApp provides comprehensive application service management (ASM) for the largest and most complex J2EE-based composite applications. Leveraging a sophisticated modeling engine, ClearApp QuickVision™ correlates the services provided by applications to the underlying code components supporting those services while automating application performance management (APM) for portals, application servers, integration platforms, ESBs, and BPEL engines. As a result, enterprises gain the necessary visibility and business-level context required to maximize application service levels, reduce the mean time to resolution (MTTR) and attain the requisite ROI from their service-oriented architecture (SOA) investments.

ClearApp History

ClearApp was founded in 2002 with the goal of solving the single biggest problem when trying to monitor IT systems: Figuring out what to monitor. With deep experience in systems management, the original founders knew the pitfalls associated with application performance management (APM) installation, configuration and maintenance. These pitfalls grow exponentially in complex composite application environments such as SOA. In other words, conventional tools are unable to logistically scale in real-world IT environments.

With immense expertise in the modeling world, the team set out to use modeling in a way to help measure performance of J2EE, WebLogic Integration (WLI) and Portal applications. Since modeling had never been tried in application management, it represented a new opportunity to help an industry that was struggling with several gaps: gaps between IT and the business, gaps between development and operations and gaps between theoretical design and real-world implementation.

In 2004, ClearApp launched the first management solution that could deal with the unique complexities of applications built on the WebLogic Integration platform. Today, the unique models and visualizations extend well beyond that first platform, encompassing complex composite applications such as portal, BPEL, and ESBs running on the J2EE application servers from by IBM, BEA, RedHat and Oracle.
